The band on stage

'The Unknowns' are based in the Exeter area and have been playing as a band since 2006.
Currently the lineup is Andy, Graham, John and Ray.

Andy has been playing since the 70's and is heavily influenced by the 60's, especially the Beatles.
His local bands include The Outfit, Suspended Sentence and he was proud to be a founder member of The Fab Beatles.
Andy has also worked solo and in a duo.
He plays bass guitar and sings on stage for The Unknowns where he uses an Ibanez bass guitar through a Hartke bass cabinet, run lightly through the PA to give the band a more rounded sound.
Andy's talents also cover playing guitar, drums and keyboards.

Graham plays guitar and vocals. His influences are Robert Cray, Jeff Healey and Del Amitri, amongst many others.
Graham has played in the Exeter and Exmouth are in Rebel and 9 by 9 before he joined the Unknowns, and uses a Fender Stratocaster, Fender Telecaster and a Les Paul through a Marshall TSL 601 combo and assorted foot pedals.

John, like Ray has been playing since the 60's and gigged in Germany.
His previous bands include The Magic Children, The Graded Grains, Hot Nuts, Beat The Heat and Clown ... before joining The Unknowns.
John sings and uses a Tama drum kit with Paiste cymbals (crash & ride) and Paiste hi hats.

Ray started playing in the 60's, spent some time on the road during the 70's with the Stan Foley Band gigging in Germany, Italy and Holland.
His local bands include Heaven, Clown, Crowded Trousers and now The Unknowns.
Ray plays guitars, keyboards and vocals. He uses a Fender Stratocaster and Fender Telecaster through a Fender Deluxe Reverb and a Boss GT-10 footpedal.
His musical tastes are varied from blues through country rock, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Jeff Beck, Eagles but loves playing basically anything that goes well live.

PA: HK Audio 2.5K rig, Allen and Heath desk and four wedge monitors.
Mikes: Four Shure SM58 beta mikes for vocals. Shure SM81 for drum overhead with an SM91 beta for bass drum.
Lighting: Eight Par 56 cans on lighting stands controlled via midi from the Roland Fantom G6 keyboard. Two white floor mounted spots for the drums.
